Vivian & Paul - Wedding Highlights

Our 2009/2010 Wedding Season has kicked off with the wedding of Vivian & Paul on Saturday 10th October. The lack of sunshine was made up for by the radiant beauty of the bridal party.

The ceremony was held in the Erskine Chapel in Island Bay, and the reception was in the Skyline Function Centre at the top of the Cable Car, providing stunning views over Wellington. This is the highlights of their day.

Our Love Story Finalists!

Our Love Story Competition entries have now closed, and we'd like to thank everybody who entered. It was a big job but we have narrowed it down to 4 lucky finalists who are in the running for a FREE Love Story Video.

Now it is up to you to vote! Read their stories below, and click on your favourite couple to vote. Please choose wisely as you can only vote once, only 1 vote per email address will be accepted.

Voting ends on 22nd September - so get your votes in quick!

AMANDA & NATHAN

Our love story has the makings of a (somewhat cheesy) Rom-Com.

As young kids, boy and girl live next door in a small-town suburb. Their parents become friends. One family moves away but the children must endure regular visits to the others house. The rebellious redhead prefers to play Playstation than talk to girl. The girl is always studying. Girl moves to Wellington for university and the only person she knows there is a certain boy from her childhood. They meet up. At our wedding, we will have been together five years.

And cue the happy ending.

FIONA & MICHAEL

We first met in Canada in 2002. We had both booked impulsive trips on an adventure travel bus through the Rockies.

Michael had a ticket for the Wales Vs All Blacks test in Cardiff a few weeks after our trip. I was living in Cardiff and said he could crash at my house for the weekend - he stayed for 6 months!

Unbeknown to us, we had both lived in London a street apart from each other 3 years earlier. Im sure his drunken behaviour would have terrorised me on the night bus and now I find myself about to marry him!

PAYAL & GAVIN

It was my 24th birthday. When I got to Gav’s place, Gav instructed me to go upstairs to the living room and that he would come up shortly. I asked why but he just firmly re-instructed me to go upstairs, so I did.

At the top of the stairs was a little note that read "follow the petals". A trail of red rose petals began at the note and led to the living room. In the middle of the room was a heart of petals and inside was a long beautiful letter from Gav saying how much he loved me and how he wanted to be with me for the rest of his life.

At the end of the note were the words "please turn around", down on one knee, Gav held a ring out...he asked me to marry him, of course the answer was yes.

VICTORIA & MICHAEL

The Proposal.

A beautiful summers day, 31/01/2009, saw me eating brunch at the waterfront with a friend, who for weeks before had insisted we get together. While at brunch she surprised me with a helicopter ride that she had won via her work (travel agent) and wanted to share with me as a belated birthday gift.

On the helicopter I was shown various sights of wellington and told we would land to view Seals out past Red Rocks. To my complete surprise when we landed it wasnt Seals I saw, but Michael, my boyfriend of 6 years, ring in hand.

To vote for Victoria & Michael, click here. Remember to put their names in the subject, and only vote once.

Congratulations to all our finalists! Remember to get your votes in quickly as voting closes on 22nd September 2009.

Jo & Robin - Wedding Recap

Jo and Robin were married on 25th April 2009 at The Woolshed in Ohariu Valley. Theirs was a really special wedding, full of elegance and simplicity.

Jo wore a gorgeous white with pink Jane Yeh gown, it is hand dyed silk chiffon. They are both a bit "car mad" so they loved being able to include their 2 mustangs in the day, and they certainly made for a spectacular arrival. It was also very special for Jo & Robin that their children were involved in their Bridal Party.

Jo & Robin got together because of their love of showing and breeding German Shepherds, so it was also great to have their German Shepherd Eros with them in their wedding photos. He only arrived from Germany just before Christmas. They even had a bride and groom German Shepherd on top of their wedding cake!

Congratulations Jo & Robin, we wish you all the best for your future, and would like to thank you for allowing us to be a part of your special day. We hope you enjoy this recap of the wedding day.

Kylie & Andy - Wedding Highlights

It's not often you can plan a beach wedding in Wellington as our weather is so unreliable! But Kylie & Andy took the risk and it paid off. They had a beautiful ceremony on Petone Beach on Saturday 14th March, followed by drinks and photos also on the beach. Thankfully the weather was great, just a little windy - but it wouldn't be Wellington without the wind! Their reception was held at the Jetty Cafe on The Esplanade, and the evening was filled with fun and laughter.

Arriving in style - Mustangs and a Kombie - the day was as fun, laid-back and carefree as Kylie & Andy. They are such a great couple and our team really enjoyed spending the day with them. We'd like to thank Kylie & Andy for letting us be a part of their special day. We hope you enjoy watching their highlights below.

Meredith & Scott - Wedding Highlights

Meredith & Scott were married on Friday 20th February 2009 at Boomrock - one of my favourite Wellington venues as the views are just stunning! Thankfully the weather stayed clear for Meredith's dramatic helicopter arrival and their outdoor ceremony. The guests had a great time enjoying the many activities Boomrock has to offer, before heading inside for the remainder of the evening.

This is a cinematic highlights of their wedding day narrated mainly by the Best Man Philip, who made a fantastic speech. As Scott says, this is the "completion of our family unit" - their love for each other and their children was evident throughout the day.

We'd like to thank Meredith & Scott for asking us to share this day with them, and also a big thank you to Justine at
Boomrock for her wonderful hospitality. We hope you enjoy the highlights of their beautiful wedding.

Jemma & Michael - Wedding Recap

Jemma and Michael were married on 14th March 2009 in a small church in Makara. Their ceremony was very intimate, and Jemma & the bridesmaids made quite an entrance arriving in their gumboots! Following the ceremony the guests were driven to Boomrock, where the bridal party later joined them - with a stunning arrival by helicopter.

Wellington put on beautiful weather for the day, and the views from Boomrock were absolutely breathtaking (see photos below from Inspire Photography).

The reception was full of fun and laughter, firstly with the activities at Boomrock that many guests got to enjoy and then the evenings entertainment with the singing waiters. It was a fantastic evening that many will remember for a very long time. We'd like to thank Jemma and Michael for including us in this memorable occassion. Also a big thanks to Justine and the team at Boomrock, and to the photographer Penny Townes, it was great to work with you!

Here is a recap of Jemma and Michael's day, and some photos from Inspire Photography below.

Nina & Adam - Wedding Recap

We received lots of great feedback about the wedding video trailer we posted recently for Nina and Adam, and it is with great anticipation that we can now share with you their Wedding Recap.

Nina & Adam were married in the Wairarapa on 28th February 2009. Unfortunately the bad weather meant they had to move their planned outdoor ceremony indoors, and their photoshoot was held in covered locations - thank goodness for wet weather plans! But it all turned out wonderfully and the evening was filled with many meaningful speeches. Their first dance to ACDC's "You Shook Me All Night Long" was certainly a great treat for the guests.

We would like to thank Nina and Adam for allowing us to share their special day with them. We hope you enjoy this short recap of the day.
